St. Thomas runs over Gibbons

St. Thomas 49, Cardinal Gibbons 3

James White rushed for two touchdowns and Ryan Becker threw a touchdown pass as St. Thomas Aquinas routed visiting Cardinal Gibbons 49-3 on Friday night.

Giovanni Bernard, Joseph Bostick and Jamal Wilson each rushed for a touchdown in the home opener for St. Thomas (2-0).

Bernard led in rushing with 104 yards on 19 carries.

White opened the scoring with an 8-yard run. His 2-yard run in the second quarter stretched the Raiders' lead to 21-0.

Becker's 44-yard toss to Dwayne Difton put the Raiders ahead 28-3 at the half.

On defense, Dylan Drake recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.

A 52-yard run by Gibbons' Dareyon Chance set up a 40-yard field goal by Drew Zloch for Gibbons' only score.

The Raiders won their opener last week, beating Cincinnati Elder in Ohio.
