COCONUT CREEK AT ST. THOMAS

St. Thomas averaged 46.4 points per game for the season. The team is loaded with offensive weapons and they are battle tested in the playoffs. Junior Giovanni Bernard led the team with 930 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns, while another junior, James White, was just as effective running for 562 yards and 12 touchdowns. Senior QB Ryan Becker is efficient and makes the most of his opportunities. He has thrown for 977 yards, his favorite targets are a pair of seniors: Duron Carter(17-317) and Dwayne Difton(18-264). The offensive line is perhaps the top unit in the state and has outstanding depth. Junior Brandon Linder appears to be the next in a long line of top rated offensive linemen.

St. Thomas held opponents to 5.7 points per game and the defense created 20 turnovers. The unit rarely misses tackles and plays as fundamentally sound as any in the state. Senior LB Conor O'Neill, junior S Brian Robinson, and sophomore CB Cody Riggs are highly coveted on the recruiting trail, but there is talent and depth everywhere.

Interesting notes: Beat Elder(Ohio) in the opener 35-24. Held Deerfield Beach to 10 points and Miramar to 2.

Coconut Creek averaged 15.9 points per game. They prefer to run the ball with Justin Williams(552 yards) and Marquis White(347). Williams is also their top play-maker at receiver, registering 290 yards. Quarterback Eric Wallace threw for 659 yards and five scores.

The defense was good, they gave up 13.1 points per game. Equally adept at the run(795 yards) and pass(765), they are a solid unit who plays hard and is consistent.

They created 13 turnovers during the season, but will need that number to rise in the playoffs as they have to carry this team.

Interesting notes: Beat Ely and Northeast 10-7. Lost to three solid playoff bound teams: Dillard, Deerfield Beach, and Cardinal Gibbons.
