MCARTHUR PROFILE

McArthur enjoyed a successful summer of competition in various seven-on-seven camps. The performance could carry over to the season.

"It puts us on a good path," McArthur linebacker/fullback Kameron Baker said. "Everybody got their mind straight. We got the potential to ball out. We're going to strive for the best."

Even a dramatic improvement could find the Mustangs out of the postseason, with quality teams such as St. Thomas Aquinas, South Broward and Hollywood Hills in the mix for two positions.

"We've got a pretty even district," Baker said. "St. Thomas, they're a good team. They're probably the best. But, we will look for a win."

Baker said the Mustangs got tips from former McArthur players Errict Rhett and Bryant McFadden, including a camp hosted by McFadden. Baker said the exposure, even though it is limited, helps.

"It doesn't take that much time to learn little techniques," he said. "You take it from the camp, go home, practice it a couple of days, and it'll stick in your mind."
