BY CONCEPCION LEDEZMA

St. Thomas Aquinas' Giovani Bernard and Beau Bucci each rushed for more than 100 yards, and quarterback Ryan Becker passed for 184 yards -- all in the first half -- as the Raiders rolled to a 49-8 District 16-5A victory against South Broward in their homecoming Friday.

Bernard finished with 137 yards on 11 carries and Bucci gained 116 yards on just three carries and one touchdown, a 1-yard run in a first quarter where the Raiders (7-0, 3-0) took a 21-0 lead.

St. Thomas added three touchdowns in the second quarter for a 42-0 halftime lead. The Raiders scored touchdowns on six of their first eight possessions, outgaining South Broward 445-40 during the first half.

Becker completed eight of 12 passes and had touchdown passes to Duron Carter and Steven Bravo-Brown, covering 70 and 40 yards, respectively. Carter finished with 100 yards receiving on just three catches.

Bucci's longest run, a 77-yarder, set up James White's third rushing touchdown of the game from 4 yards out for a 49-0 lead early in the third quarter. The second half was played with a running clock.

South Broward (4-4, 2-2), which had a three-game winning streak snapped, avoided the shutout when quarterback Bryan Parnes scored on a 4-yard run on the final play of the third quarter.
