William Zloch

Bill Zloch was one of Florida's top athletes in the early 60's, when he was the signal caller and quarterback for St. Thomas Aquinas High School and even shared the same backfield with Brian Piccolo.

In college, Zloch became a receiver and eventually the starting quarterback for Notre Dame University's Fighting Irish. After graduation, Bill entered the U.S.Navy and became a lieutenant. He received an honorable discharge and a Vietnam Service Medal. In 1971, he returned to Notre Dame, earning his law degree.

He later returned to Fort Lauderdale and practiced civil law from 1974 to 1985. Then, in 1985, he was nominated to the bench by President Ronald Reagan and became the first Broward County born judge. Currently, he is a Chief Justice for the Southern District of Florida.

In 2004, he was inducted into the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame.
